Soar with Mandarin is a two-volume series designed for learners with little or no prior knowledge of Mandarin. It may be used for self-study, short-term courses or classroom learning. Volume 1 begins with the fundamentals, Hanyu Pinyin and Chinese characters, followed by five main lessons focusing on topics relevant to everyday life. Each main lesson is organised into four sections, which include the reading texts, language usage, cultural knowledge and a wide variety of exercises.
