Siew Yoon Lai
Affliation: Universiti Kuala Lumpur Ms Lai Siew Yoon is a Chinese Language lecturer in Universiti Kuala Lumpur. She holds a Master’s degree in Modern Language Studies from Universiti Malaya, a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) majoring in Chinese, from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a teacher training certificate from the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. Ms Lai has been teaching Chinese as a second language to diploma and degree students in Unversiti Kuala Lumpur since 2008. Before joining Universiti Kuala Lumpur, she taught Chinese language in a secondary school for nine years. Ms Lai also has three years’ experience in teaching Chinese studies and methodology in a teacher training college in Seremban, Malaysia. Ms Lai also authored four Chinese workbooks when she teaching Chinese in a secondary school.

Yoke Len Lim
Ms Lim Yoke Len is a retired Chinese language teacher. She holds a Master’s degree in language education, an honors degree in Chinese Studies, and a diploma in education from University Malaya. She has taught Chinese language for over 30 years, of which five years was spent teaching Chinese language and literature in a secondary school, 26 years was spent teaching Chinese studies and methodology in five different teacher training colleges in Malaysia, and a few years was spent teaching Chinese as foreign language in a private institution. Other than teaching, she was also actively involved in the formulation of Chinese syllabus and writing of learning modules for the Malaysian teacher training programmes for Chinese subjects. She has also participated in various workshops for designing primary and secondary school Chinese syllabus and she was involved in the development of teaching materials organized by the Curriculum Development Centre of Malaysia.
